FAQ
* How long is the tool life?
It depends on the deburring process conditions and burr size (base thickness).
There is quite a wide range from a few thousand pieces to 20 or 30 thousand pieces. Here are samples of successful applications:
  • Tool life of “A11CB25M” is 5 million holes / piece in the deburring process after drilling ø1.5 mm diameter holes in Aluminum alloy.
  • Tool life of “A11CB15M “ is 5 thousand units / piece in the deburring process after grinding process for sintered metal.
* How can forming and dressing be performed?
The easiest and most inexpensive way is to press the brush onto abrasive paper with coarse abrasive grain C (equivalent to #80) attached on a board while the brush rotates. Using an electrodeposited diamond stone is recommended, as more efficient and clean forming or dressing can be made.
* Can the tools be used for dry processing?
Yes.
Deburring is be possible without coolant. However, in general, more efficient processing and longer tool life can be achieved when wet processing.
For surface grinding, please refer to this material chart.
* Can aluminum workpieces be processed?
Yes. Deburring is possible without coolant. However, wet processing is recommended for surface grinding to prevent clogging.
* Do the tools contain abrasive grains?
They do not contain any abrasive grains. They consists of only Alumina Fiber Filament and binder. The Alumina Fiber Filaments themselves are abrasive material.
As the structure of the rods are continuously constant, the cutting edges are continuously produced by the self-sharpening action of the Fine Alumina Fiber rod tips.
This provides stable and continuous grinding performance even though tool is worn during processing.
*How much torque is repuired tool rotation?
Use a motor that has at least 0.5kw power output for ø60 ,ø100 or at least 0.35kw power output for ø40.
