Features
  • The tool head is made of Alumina Fiber abrasive stone. Cutting edges are exposed over the entire surface.
  • Efficient removal of fine burrs where the base thickness is 0.2 mm or less after machining.
  • Ideal for point processing of cross-hole fine deburring.
  • Flexible shaft allows soft contact with the workpiece.
  • Can also be used in a machining center, NC lathe, robot, etc.

Material and Structure
■Material

The “Meister Finish” is an abrasive stone made of XEBEC Alumina Fibers which have the ideal crystal structure for grinding.
Shaped into spherical ball and columnar cylinder configurations, the stone surface has a multitude of fiber cutting edges providing superior grinding force and performance.
The self-sharpening action of the cutting edge on the Alumina Fiber rod tips provides superior grinding performance.
Continuous cutting edges provide stable and continuous grinding performance.

Usage, Application
■Usage
  • Removal of fine burrs generated around cross-holes where the base thickness is 0.2mm or less.
(Point processing removes only fine cross-hole burrs; no secondary burrs generated.)
  • This tool also can be used not only with a machining center but also with a hand grinder for manual deburring.

■Applications (applications with a machining center)
Workpiece name Usage Contents
Camshaft Cross-hole deburring Deburring oil hole (slanted hole) after drilling
(for motorcycle)
Injector parts Inner wall surface polishing Deburring inner wall after drilling

Comparison
  1. Over 20 times longer life than with an elastic grindstone.
Over 10 times longer life than with a mounted vitrified wheel.
  2. Superior edges and far fewer secondary burrs than with an electro-deposited diamond bar or a mounted vitrified wheel.
  3. Point processing with no damage to peripheral area.
  4. Soft contact. Suitable for automation. Also easy-to-use with hand grinder.

Use
For efficient use of XEBEC Cross-Hole Deburring Tools
  1. Choose a head that is slightly larger than the bore diameter in secondary processing.
(This is good for both longer tool life and better fitting.)
  2. Choose the coarsest one (gray color; equivalent to #220) for efficient deburring
(Choose orange (equivalent to #400) or blue (equivalent to #800) for superior edge quality and surface roughness.)
  3. Operate at approximately 80% of the maximum RPM for each tool size.
    (Do not exceed maximum RPM.)
  4. First insert the head while rotating into the primary processing hole. And then touch the head slightly onto the burry area around secondary processing hole by the flexible shaft.
※Do not exceed  the maximum cutting load; 5N i.e.500gf. (bending displacement of 2mm)
  5. If the bore diameter in primary processing is small compered of secondary processing the hole becomes oval.
So in order to obtain a uniform deburring process, slightly jiggle the head in the axial direction and rotate the tool in both the forward and reverse directions until the head fits the secondary processing hole.
