Diamond abrasives-impregnated Ceramic Fiber Stone.
Efficiently polishes materials harder than HRC57 (from hardened steel to cemented carbide).

Features
  • Both the Stick and the Rod types can be used to polish with the tip or the sides of the tools.
  • Ideal for polishing after EDM and wire cut processing.
  • Also ideal for polishing ribs and deburring edges and corners.
  • Can be formed into desired shapes, such as a thinner tips.
  • Can be used even more efficiently when attached to tools (electric, air, or ultrasonic).

■Polishing performance using the tip of the stick
・It takes a very short time to achieve superior surface roughness.
・With the combination of two kinds of grit, Rmax=1μm can be achieved in a short time.

Usage, Applications
■Usage
  • Ideal for polishing extremely hard die and mold (especially materials harder than HRC57).
  • Usage can be specified for “Surface polishing”, “Finishing ribs after EDM”, “Finishing gates after EDM”, “Finishing and deburring corners”, “Finishing and deburring edges”, “Chamfering corners (to be rounded or chamfered)”.
■Applications
Usage Applications
Die and Mold Finishing
  • Removing EDM scales
  • Polishing precise area
  • Finishing ribs
  • Finishing punches and dies
    [Target]
For resin, die castings, precision press components cemented carbid etc.
(Material harder than HRC57 can be polished)
Deburring
  • Deburring and chamfering edges of blades for drills and tools (to be rounded or chamfered)

Comparison
Side-Polishing performance comparison between XEBEC Diamond#200(0.5t) and electroplated diamond file #200.

SKD11 EDM (hardened steel HRC57)

Explanation of the Graph
  • The graphs represent the comparison of polishing performance data between XEBEC Diamond and an electroplated diamond file, both #200, using both on its sides.
  • Polishing efficiency is very high, and surfaces are finished in a short time.
  • The XEBEC Diamond shows that the maximum surface roughness (R max) to very low, and that the surface is very low.
  • Though the XEBEC Diamond may have the same grit, it can give surfaces a finer finish, thus enabling it to shorten the work which took far longer with an electroplated diamond file.

Use
■XEBEC Diamond
Efficient use Picture
Use the tip at an angle to the surface of the workpiece.

approximately 5~45 degrees is effective.
Polishing and deburring by using the side of the tool.

The surface of the tools has no polishing ability.
Use with vibration tools (ultrasonic, air, electric etc.)

XEBEC Heat-Resistant Ceramic Abrasives are ideal for use with ultrasonic tools.

Ideal tool length depends on each ultrasonic tool. If a tool is not mounted on ultrasonic tool securely, excessive heat may be generated.
Forming (Shaping the tip of a tool in accordance with the shape of a workpiece.)
Dressing

For easy and perfect dressing, use an electrodeposited diamond stone. Perform cutting same way.
Coolant will increase efficiency.

Coolant is recommended when polishing plastic molds.
Basic usage is the same as Meister Finish(Stick type).

XEBEC Diamond has diamond embedded in layers, enabling polishing by even the surface of the tool.Polishing and deburring cemented carbide and hardened steel is also possible.
