| * How can the tool be used? |
| The tip of Ceramic Fiber Stone has grinding force. Use the tip at a certain angle to the surface of a workpiece for polishing (approximately 5~45 degrees is effective.) |
| * Can the side of the tool be used? |
| There is no grinding force on the side of the tool. Use the tip at an angle to polish the surface of a workpiece. |
| * Doesn't the tool broken? |
| It does not breake, crack no
chip due to the Alumina Fiber Filaments are bound and hardened by the
resin binder. Even though it's only 0.5mm thick, it can be used for polishing. It's ideal for polishing the narrow area such as removing EDM scales in deep ribs. |
| * Why doesn't the tool clog? |
| It’s because of the self-sharpening action. The
cutting edge on the on the tip of the Alumina Fiber Filaments is continuously
recovered when polishing. Wet processing is recommended when polishing aluminum alloy. |
| * What kind of workpiece can be processed? |
| Workpieces of all kinds of metal whose hardness
is less than HRC57; NAK80, STAVAX, S45C, etc for plastic mold. *XEBEC Diamond is recommended for use with the material harder than HRC57 (from hardened steel to cemented carbide). |
| * Can the tools be used with vibration tools? |
| They can be used with ultrasonic, air or electric
vibration tools. For ultrasonic tools, we recommend XEBEC heat-resistant Ceramic Abrasives that are specially designed for use xith ultrasonic tools. |
| * Can the tool be used with oil coolant? |
| They can be used with water-soluble coolant,
oil-soluble coolant or kerosene etc. Wet processing results in high polishing efficiency than dry processing. |
| * How can the tool be formed? |
| Forming (such as thinning the tip of the tool)
is possible with an electrodeposited diamond stone or paper file. (abrasive grain C) |
