Structure of ceramic fiber

XEBEC Brush Crosshole uses abrasive ceramic fiber material instead of abrasive grain. One single bristle has 1,000 cutting edges, providing excellent cutting ability. The ceramic fiber has 3 features: "high grinding power", "tip-to-tip consistent performance" and "no deformation," enabling automation of deburring and polishing.

Each bristle is made by fixing 500-1000 ceramic fibers, each together with a binder.

Strength 1: High grinding power

Free of abrasive grains.The fiber content ratio is approximately 80%.

Our uniquely developed ceramic fibers themselves are the abrasive; their fiber content ratio is over 80%. The thousands of cutting edges that are made up of the tips of each bristle create overpowering grinding power.

Handles all sorts of materials up to HRC 65.

The brushes can process general materials up to HRC65. They can handle hard-to-cut and super hard materials in addition to general metals, aluminum, and resin, to SUS, Inconel, and Titanium.

Strength 2: Tip-to-tip consistent performance

Self-sharpening unique to ceramic fiber.

Through the self-sharpening of cutting edges on the fiber ends, the brushes do not become clogged, and new, fresh cutting edges are always exposed. The stability of performance makes true automation possible.

Long tool life

When compared with third-party deburring tools for crosshole, the XEBEC Brush has a tool life that is 7 times longer compared to nylon brush containing diamond abrasive grain. It also does not scratch the crosshole.

The tool is capable of high-precision deburring without damaging the area around the crosshole or breaking the edge shape.

How to Use


Because XEBEC brush has high grinding power on the tip, the tip of the brush must pass through the part that’s being processed (the part where burring occurs). Consequently, when processing the crosshole, it is necessary to rotate the brush and expand it by centrifugal force.
The applicable hole diameter is between φ3.5mm and φ20mm. If you use the tool beyond the maximum rotation speed or outside the cylinder (outside the workpiece), it may result in breaking the brush.

The tool can be mounted on an apparatus capable of controlling the rotation speed that can produce a rotation speed over 8000min-1The tool can be used on machining centers, combined lathes, robots ,and special machines.

How to select XEBEC Brush Crosshole

The color of the bristles vary depending on difference of grinding power. Refer to the chart below and select the brush bristles (color) based on information such as the workpiece material and base thickness of burr.
